Sakuraquo Necklace Donation Project
Sakuraquo began during the quiet days of quarantine in 2020, when I rediscovered an old pearl collection tucked away in a drawer. That small finding sparked something—one necklace led to another, and before I knew it, I was creating non-stop.
After chatting with a friend about the growing pile of necklaces, we decided to turn it into something meaningful. We started a foundation project together and, after exploring many causes, we partnered with Plan International’s initiative against female genital mutilation. From 2020 to 2022, this became the heart of Sakuraquo.
To sell the necklaces, we created an Instagram page (@sakuraquo), which took off much better than we expected. Thanks to the support we received, we were able to raise a significant amount of money for women affected by FGM.
Now, I’m looking to pick up where we left off—reconnecting with that joy of making and the purpose behind it.
